The kids school Christmas pageant

The Cornerstone Christian School Christmas program was last night and it was fun. Andrew sang Mary, Did You Know in a grade 2/3 choir, see if you can find his head in the big group picture. Laura played the flute at the end (no good pictures, sorry) but played the role of mean, unhappy Imogene in the grade 6 play, so don't look funny at all the pictures of her frowning. Enjoy!

Laura sings

There she is, Mary herself, singing a solo during yesterday's Christmas Program. She did a great job for doing this for the first time on her own. More pictures on our church blog, the link is on the side of the screen there, can you see it?

More Christmas Pics

These are sheep we bought (plus some of our regular Christmas display material) whose names are Zeb, Jake, and Erb, they're very cute!

We took the kids out so they could buy some presents for everyone else. Laura just couldn't decide on anything for me and we went into 7-11 for a Slurpee and while there we saw the infamous "Bubba Keg" that some people take on their holidays to Cuba and I told Laura "I would LOVE that!" So she went out and got her money and got it for me, so not much of a secret but I'll get a fun conversation piece which I'm planning on pulling out some morning before a sermon! Notice it says Saskatchewan on the side so that sold me!

Kids Pics

Random pics of the kids recently!

Andrew sending an e-mail to Santa Claus to ask him for a wad of loot!

A lot of gifts are under the tree and the kids are feeling, looking, moving, guessing and whatever else they can to figure out what's in the wrapping! They don't know though we've thrown some clues out there! Laura wanted to pour some water on the wrapping of one of the gifts to make it able to see through. Andrew has written the days left until Christmas inside a book and is crossing off each day as it comes. He announced to me this morning that there are 16 days left until Christmas

Laura made me happy tonight when she told me she was excited for the gifts but that she wants to make sure we still focus on God in all the hoopla! Nice...

Christmas Tree Fun

Haven't cut off all my chin hair for quite a while, feels pretty naked.

Watch a cool video here on one of the few Christmas Tree farms in Saskatchewan. http://www.comesaw.com/radio_clips/made-in-canada-dec-2006.wmv

We picked it out, this is the one!

The stump of the tree, it was 8 years old, looks like it exploded in growth at year 4 and 5!

This is the cool sled they give everyone to bring your tree back to your car. Along with the sharp saw, it made it a really fun and easy day

The shaker picking up the tree, this is the owner guy from the video above, in case you watched it.

The tree being "shaked", wrung up and down to get snow or whatever else out of the tree.

And our tree is bundled to go!

Well, the reindeer weren't very sociable today, this is them standing still letting us see their hind quarters, which is the best shot we got of them.

Decorating fun.

Volleyball Tournament

Laura played in volleyball tournament today. Her team (Cornerstone) came in 3rd place overall. This is Laura, 2 of her teammates and her coach cheering on their team during a set.

This is the team being presented with their award.

The Cornerstone Christian School Junior A Volleyball Team.
Some of the loyal Cornerstone fans (and good friends!).

Two very handsome fans ;)

Ashley & Laura having a chat while watching another game.
All of the Cornerstone girls had blue & gold ribbons in their hair to enhance their team spirit.

Slick Andrew

It's a dangerous thing when Andrew is left alone with his sister and her friend. He let them slick his hair - I suppose it could have been much worse!

Social fun

Here's some random pics of the kids at a church social function, enjoy!

Wow!!

Well, no pictures but today was the last regualr season game for Laura playing volleyball. I was standing against the wall, minding my own business when all of a sudden the ball is flying high near the net and Laura suddenly jumps up and spikes it down for the point... I didn't even know she was capable of doing that!!!

She also had a few runs of points off serves. Too bad it was the last game of the year, they won one game, but a lot of sets here and there, and the playoff's start Thursday. With a miracle maybe we'll move on beyond Thursday!!!!

Halloween 2007

Whew, all the kids are gone, Daddy's on candy duty, first time I've done this in a few years. Here's Andrew in his Garfield costume.

Andrew and his friend Tyler (and little sister) from across the street, his costume has light on it so this picture would have been better without the flash.

Laura in her Pocohantas outfit, not liking the picture...

...but okay with it when her friend Katti got into the picture!

So I can't believe this, but I just sent Laura and Katti out to wander the streets by themselves, at least I gave them a cell phone to call home if anything "happens". So a couple of firsts for the Taylor parents tonight: one sending out my daughter on her own (sort of) at night and giving the sole use of our cell phone. Yikes!

Our friends Mike & Julie stopped by with Marcus, the baby hotdog - too cute! The dinosaur is our halloween treat for Marcus because he's too young for candy.

A fun Saturday!

Well, didn't think this day would turn out much but it actually turns out to be quite busy! Last night we found out we'd be getting baby Marcus for the day. He's always a treat, we've had him a few times. What a joy he was this morning, but just as Lisa took him out to get some stuff at Wal-Mart he started bawling. Bad timing for Lisa, good timing for me. We can't go with her, as you'll see in the second picture!

Here's Andrew giving him his first bottle, he does a good job of this.

Laura got home at noon from a sleepover that started at 4 yesterday afternoon. She and two other girls decided it was in their best interests to stay up all night. We told her to go to bed when she got home and of course she whined saying she can't sleep during the day. 7 minutes after she reluctantly agreed to go have a nap Andrew came upstairs and told us she was sawing logs!!

A friend from church has a Moose Jaw Warriors season ticket which he can't use tonight so I'm going to cheer on our home town team, that are on a 6 game winning streak, but before that a salesman from an audio visual place in Regina who lives here in town is bringing over a few wireless mic systems for us to try out (see pic of the cool ear worn mic below). Ours at church is 13 years old and starting to go, so this is a good time to take the next step. So along with Laura sleeping and waiting for this guy to show up, I'm stranded here. Hope Marcus is being good for Lisa!!

Football Fun in the backyard

Try and get by me Andrew!!! It's nice I'm able to do a bit of physical running like this now.

Wacky Hair Day

Yep, Wacky Hair Day at school today so we found some "cheap" Halloween Hair Guck. Here's the results in the morning!

And here's a pic of Andrew washing it out at nighttime, couldn't resist taking the pic, even though he was concerned I was taking a picture of his bum!

The first win

After two losses to open the season, the Cornerstone "A" Girls Volleyball Falcons team had their first win tonight. After a heartbreaking first set loss where they were up 24-18 we lost the second set to go down 2-o. But then they came back to take the final three sets to win the game. Laura played well, at one point getting 5 points in a row serving and had some really nice plays as well. The team seems to be gelling well and we look forward to playing Caronport next week, where Briercrest College and Seminary is.

Morality and high class drama, all in one.

Laura made up and acted in this one person play on stealing, enjoy, we think she has a great future on... Corner Gas!

A cheesy American game
