Holiday / New Years

Christmas Day at the Linds! 22 of us "displaced" types got together for a great supper!

Ahhh, the fun of a secret. Here's Laura's friend Rebecca who now lives in Edmonton. She is over tonight for a sleepover but I didn't let Laura know. She freaked out when she opened the door, they're having a great time now.

And not to let Andrew pout he has a friend over for a sleepover now as well. I've got pizza in the oven now for 5 instead of 3 as I thought!

Stuff

This is our old couch all loaded up to go to the dump. Bye bye!

The new comfy couch! Yipee!

I came home to find this note from Laura in my suitcase which is packed for my trip to ON.

Andrew and his friend Tyler hanging out in his room watching a movie on the new portable DVD player.

The scrape under Andrew's right eye is a tobaganning injury. Yes...there are places to go tobaganning in SK!!!!

Rock'em Sock'em Robots - what a classic!

Gramma & Grampa's Christmas present for the kids (or maybe it's a present for mommy & daddy - to keep our sanity on long trips ;)

Christmas Eve Sledding!

This is an absolute massive hill of snow in Moose Jaw... well it's the biggest one near our house! Christmas Eve sledding waiting for Lisa to come home from a big one day of work this week before Christmas!

Laura was actually coming towards me in this pic!

The kids school Christmas pageant

The Cornerstone Christian School Christmas program was last night and it was fun. Andrew sang Mary, Did You Know in a grade 2/3 choir, see if you can find his head in the big group picture. Laura played the flute at the end (no good pictures, sorry) but played the role of mean, unhappy Imogene in the grade 6 play, so don't look funny at all the pictures of her frowning. Enjoy!

Laura sings

There she is, Mary herself, singing a solo during yesterday's Christmas Program. She did a great job for doing this for the first time on her own. More pictures on our church blog, the link is on the side of the screen there, can you see it?

More Christmas Pics

These are sheep we bought (plus some of our regular Christmas display material) whose names are Zeb, Jake, and Erb, they're very cute!

We took the kids out so they could buy some presents for everyone else. Laura just couldn't decide on anything for me and we went into 7-11 for a Slurpee and while there we saw the infamous "Bubba Keg" that some people take on their holidays to Cuba and I told Laura "I would LOVE that!" So she went out and got her money and got it for me, so not much of a secret but I'll get a fun conversation piece which I'm planning on pulling out some morning before a sermon! Notice it says Saskatchewan on the side so that sold me!

Kids Pics

Random pics of the kids recently!

Andrew sending an e-mail to Santa Claus to ask him for a wad of loot!

A lot of gifts are under the tree and the kids are feeling, looking, moving, guessing and whatever else they can to figure out what's in the wrapping! They don't know though we've thrown some clues out there! Laura wanted to pour some water on the wrapping of one of the gifts to make it able to see through. Andrew has written the days left until Christmas inside a book and is crossing off each day as it comes. He announced to me this morning that there are 16 days left until Christmas

Laura made me happy tonight when she told me she was excited for the gifts but that she wants to make sure we still focus on God in all the hoopla! Nice...

Christmas Tree Fun

Haven't cut off all my chin hair for quite a while, feels pretty naked.

Watch a cool video here on one of the few Christmas Tree farms in Saskatchewan. http://www.comesaw.com/radio_clips/made-in-canada-dec-2006.wmv

We picked it out, this is the one!

The stump of the tree, it was 8 years old, looks like it exploded in growth at year 4 and 5!

This is the cool sled they give everyone to bring your tree back to your car. Along with the sharp saw, it made it a really fun and easy day

The shaker picking up the tree, this is the owner guy from the video above, in case you watched it.

The tree being "shaked", wrung up and down to get snow or whatever else out of the tree.

And our tree is bundled to go!

Well, the reindeer weren't very sociable today, this is them standing still letting us see their hind quarters, which is the best shot we got of them.

Decorating fun.

The finished product

Laura's 2007 ornament from Gramma.

A cheesy American game
